CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test. It is conducted by the CBSE twice a year for candidates who want to teach classes 1 to 8 in central government schools. Paper-I is for primary classes and Paper-II is for upper primary classes. Qualifying CTET makes you eligible to apply for teaching posts; it is not a recruitment exam by itself.
