The Language Proficiency Test (LPT) is held after the RBI Assistant written exam.
It tests your ability to read, write and speak the local language of the office you apply to.
It is qualifying in nature — marks do not count in the merit.
Candidates who studied the local language in school may get exemptions as per rules.
The official notification lists the language applicable to each office.
