CGHS is the Central Government Health Scheme. It provides medical care to central government employees, pensioners and their dependent family members. Beneficiaries can get treatment at CGHS dispensaries and empanelled private hospitals. A monthly contribution is deducted from salary based on the pay level. The scheme covers OPD treatment, medicines, tests and hospitalisation as per CGHS rules.
