LIC Assistant selection has two stages: a preliminary exam and a mains exam, followed by a pre-recruitment medical examination. Prelims is only qualifying — its marks do not count in the final merit. The final merit is based on mains marks. There is no interview for the Assistant post. Always check the official LIC notification for the latest scheme.
