DAF stands for Detailed Application Form.
Candidates who clear the UPSC prelims must fill the DAF online before the mains exam.
It asks for your personal details, education, employment history, and service and cadre preferences.
Your DAF is also used by the interview board during the personality test.
Fill it carefully — the preferences you give decide your service allocation.
