UPESSC UP TGT Recruitment 2026 – 17,735 Posts, Apply Online by 23 Nov

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has issued advertisement number 07/2026 for the recruitment of 17,735 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) in aided secondary schools across the state. The online application window opens on 24 October 2026 and the last date to submit the form is 23 November 2026.

Overview

UPESSC has notified a total of 17,735 TGT posts, of which 16,193 are for boys’ schools and 1,542 for girls’ schools. Applications will be accepted online only through the commission’s official website, upessc.up.gov.in, between 24 October 2026 and 23 November 2026.

Candidates holding a graduate degree in the relevant subject along with B.Ed. and the prescribed TET qualification can apply. The written examination is proposed to be held on 23 and 24 December 2026, and selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400) under the 7th Central Pay Commission.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Graduation in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks, or post-graduation with at least 45% marks, as specified for the subject.
• Teacher Training: B.Ed. degree from a recognized university, as prescribed in the official notification. For Physical Education posts, qualifications such as B.P.Ed. / B.P.E. may apply.
• TET Qualification: Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification for the upper primary level (Classes 6–8), as prescribed. A general graduation degree alone may not be sufficient for every subject — check subject-wise eligibility carefully.
• Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 62 years as on 1 July 2026.
• Candidates must satisfy the subject-specific qualification requirements given in the official notification before applying.

Selection Process

The selection will be made in three stages:

1. Written Examination
2. Document Verification
3. Tie-breaking as per merit rules

Exam pattern: 120 multiple-choice questions for 360 marks — 30 General Knowledge questions (90 marks) and 90 subject-specific questions (270 marks). The duration is 2 hours. Each correct answer carries 3 marks, with 1 mark deducted for every wrong answer. The medium of the exam is Hindi and English (except for language subjects, as applicable).
