MACP stands for Modified Assured Career Progression scheme. It gives financial upgradation to central government employees who do not get regular promotions for a long time. Upgradations are given after 10, 20 and 30 years of continuous service. The employee moves to the next pay level without a change in post. The exact rules are given in the Department of Personnel and Training orders.
