The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has invited online applications for the Civil Judge (Junior Division) post in two streams — direct recruitment for fresh law graduates, and recruitment by transfer for eligible employees of the High Court, district judiciary, prosecution services, law/legislature department and advocate general offices. The pay scale is ₹77,840 to ₹1,36,520.

Eligibility Criteria

Direct Recruitment

• Law Degree obtained within the preceding one year as on the notification date.
• Must meet the prescribed Judicial Service eligibility conditions given in the notification.
• Maximum age: 35 years.

Recruitment by Transfer

• Degree in Law from a recognized University established by law in India.
• Must be a confirmed member or approved probationer in an eligible category — High Court employees, district judiciary employees, prosecution services (eligible Assistant Public Prosecutors and specified posts), law/legislature department (eligible Section Officers), and Advocate General / Government Pleader / Public Prosecutor offices (specified employees), as detailed in the notification.
• Candidates facing specified disciplinary proceedings or punishment are not eligible.
• Maximum age: 48 years.

Selection Process

1. Screening Test — computer-based test to shortlist candidates for the written examination.
2. Written Examination — three papers, each 100 marks and 3 hours.
3. Viva Voce — 50 marks.
4. Document Verification — required before final appointment.

Viva Voce: 50 marks, shortlisting in the ratio of 1:3. Final selection is based on the prescribed Written Examination + Viva Voce criteria.
