Overview
The Bihar School Examination Board conducts the State Teacher Eligibility Test (Bihar STET) as a qualifying examination for aspiring secondary and senior secondary school teachers in Bihar. This is the 2026 cycle of the test, issued under advertisement number P.R.183/2026.
The examination will be held as a Computer Based Test (CBT) between 25 October and 20 November 2026. Before the final admit card, the board had already issued dummy admit cards from 25 to 30 September 2026 and a second dummy admit card from 1 to 7 October 2026 for correction of candidate details.
Vacancy Details
Bihar STET is an eligibility test, not a recruitment drive, so there are no posts or vacancies attached to it. Qualifying the test makes candidates eligible to apply for teacher posts in Bihar government schools whenever such vacancies are announced.

Eligibility Criteria
Paper-I (Secondary Teacher, Class 9–10): Bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks, along with a B.Ed. degree.
Paper-II (Senior Secondary Teacher, Class 11–12): Postgraduate degree in the concerned subject with second division, along with a B.Ed. degree. B.Ed. is not required for Computer Science.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, EBC, BC and Divyang categories get a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks requirement.
Age limit (as on 1 August 2026):
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Maximum age: 37 years (male candidates)
- Maximum age: 40 years (female UR candidates; BC/EBC male and female candidates)
- Maximum age: 42 years (SC/ST male and female candidates)
Age relaxation is applicable as per BSEB rules.

- Visit the official website of the Bihar School Examination Board or the STET portal.
- Look for the “Admit Card” section on the homepage.
- Find and click the link for “Bihar STET Admit Card 2026”.
- Enter your enrollment number, registration number or date of birth on the login screen.
- Your hall ticket will appear on the screen — check your name, exam date, shift, reporting time and exam centre details.
- Download the PDF and take a printout to carry to the examination hall.
Note: the admit card download link will be activated on the official website from 18 October 2026.
