When an SSC exam is held in multiple shifts, raw marks are converted into normalised scores.
The formula compares your shift’s average and spread of marks with those of other shifts.
A candidate in a tougher shift can get a normalised score higher than their raw marks, and vice versa.
Only the normalised score is used for cut-offs and merit lists.
SSC publishes the formula and the normalised scores along with the result.
