A provisional merit list is a temporary list of selected candidates, subject to document verification and medical examination.
Being on it does not guarantee the job — candidature can still be cancelled if documents are invalid.
After verification, the final merit list or appointment letters are issued.
If a candidate on the provisional list is rejected, the next candidate in merit may be considered.
