Earned leave (EL) is leave that a government employee earns by working — central government employees earn 30 days of earned leave per year. It can be accumulated up to 300 days and can be encashed at retirement. Earned leave is used for long personal work, vacations or rest. It can be combined with other kinds of leave as per the rules.
