Provisional allotment is the stage where IBPS assigns qualified candidates to participating banks.
Allotment is done on a merit-cum-preference basis — your rank and the bank preferences you filled.
It is called provisional because the bank confirms it only after its own document verification and medical.
Once the bank verifies everything, the final appointment letter is issued.
