PwBD means Persons with Benchmark Disabilities — candidates certified with 40% or more of a specified disability.

A fixed quota of central government vacancies is reserved for PwBD candidates across categories like visual, hearing, locomotor and other specified disabilities.

PwBD candidates also get age relaxation and, where applicable, relaxation in physical standards.

Apply under the PwBD category in the application form and upload a valid disability certificate from the competent medical authority.

The certificate must be in the prescribed format — an old or non-standard certificate can be rejected at document verification.
