DEST stands for Data Entry Speed Test, a skill test in SSC CHSL.
It is conducted after the written stages for qualifying candidates.
You are given printed text to type on a computer within a time limit.
It is usually qualifying in nature, not counted in the final merit.
Practice typing accurately; errors reduce your speed score.
The test follows the official skill-test instructions on exam day.
