SSC Stenographer selection has two stages: a computer-based written exam and a shorthand skill test. The skill test is qualifying — dictation is given at the required speed and you transcribe it in the given time on computer. There is no interview. The final merit is based on written exam marks of candidates who qualify the skill test.
