Tier-1 is a computer-based test with four sections — general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and English comprehension. Wrong answers carry a small negative marking. Tier-1 is only qualifying; its marks do not count in the final merit. The detailed scheme is given in the official SSC notification.
