In SSC CGL, ASO and similar posts include a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) in Tier-2.
A minimum speed is prescribed in the official notification — you must meet it to qualify.
The test is qualifying in nature and does not add marks to the final merit.
It is taken on a computer with the keyboard layout used in the exam.
Practice regularly on the same keyboard type and confirm the speed requirement from the current year’s notification.
