UPESSC Principal Result 2026 Out – 111 Posts, Check Degree College Principal Merit List

The wait is finally over for teaching aspirants in Uttar Pradesh. 📢 The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has declared the Principal Result 2026 for 111 Principal posts in degree colleges across the state. Candidates who appeared in the written examination on 24 September 2026 can now check their qualifying status on the official website.

Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, has released the result of the Principal recruitment examination for degree colleges. The written examination was held on 24 September 2026, and the result was declared on 12 October 2026. A total of 111 Principal posts are to be filled through this recruitment, and the next stage — the interview — will be announced shortly.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Ph.D. degree from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years of teaching / research experience as Professor or Associate Professor in a university, college, or higher education institution.
• Research Publications: Minimum 10 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
• Research Score: Minimum 110 API / research score.
• Law Colleges: Eligibility as per Bar Council of India (BCI) norms.
• B.Ed. Colleges: Eligibility as per NCTE norms.
• Age Limit: Maximum 62 years as on 1 July 2026.
• Pay Scale: Pay Level-14, Rs 1,44,200 – Rs 2,18,200 per month, plus DA, HRA, medical allowances and other government benefits as applicable.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination: 120 objective-type questions carrying 360 marks. Correct answers get +3 marks and wrong answers attract −1 mark. The exam is conducted offline (OMR-based).
2. Interview: 40 marks, covering the candidate’s academic profile, administrative skills, research experience, leadership ability and communication skills.
3. Document Verification: Verification of educational, experience and eligibility documents.
4. Medical / Eligibility Verification: If required.

Final selection is based on merit in the written examination plus the interview.
