Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, conducts the selection of teachers for government-run primary schools in Uttar Pradesh. Under Advt. No. 05/2026, the commission is recruiting Assistant Teachers (Primary – PRT) for 12,405 posts.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

Assistant Teacher (Primary – Urban):

• Graduation degree from a university established by law in India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
• A recognised teacher-training qualification: BTC (now conducted as D.El.Ed.), BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, 2-year Diploma in Special Education approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), 4-year B.El.Ed., or 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) under NCTE Regulations, 2002.
• Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the State Government or the Government of India.

Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary):

• Graduation degree from a recognised or deemed university/institution.
• BTC or D.El.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognised course.
• Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Classes 01 to 05, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Government or the Government of India.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026):

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age: 40 years for Assistant Teacher (Primary – Urban)
• Maximum age: 62 years for Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary)
• Age relaxation applies as per the commission’s regulations.
