Many state government recruitments reserve a share of posts for candidates domiciled in that state, and for those posts a domicile or residence certificate is required. Open or unreserved posts usually do not need it. The certificate is issued by the competent authority like the Tehsildar or SDM of your district. Check the notification’s reservation section to see whether domicile proof applies to the posts you are targeting.
