In UPSSSC, PET stands for Preliminary Eligibility Test. It is a screening examination for Group B and Group C posts of the Uttar Pradesh government, and only PET-qualified candidates can apply for the main recruitments. The PET score is used for shortlisting as per the rules in the notification. Do not confuse it with the Physical Efficiency Test, which is also called PET in police recruitments.
